The Main Cause of Tinnitus About The Causes of Tinnitus

Tinnitus is common in most of the people, but still the causes of tinnitus remain still unidentified in many patients. It is easier to treat tinnitus if you are able to ascertain its exact cause. Common causes of tinnitus include damage to the inner ear, prolonged exposure to loud noises, ear wax buildup, age related ear changes, or changes in the stricture of the ear bones.

A common cause of tinnitus is inner ear cell damage or damage to the find cochlear hairs that conduct sound to the ear drums. Trigger the release of an electrical signal through the auditory nerve to your brain where it is interpreted as a sound and these delicate hairs located along the inner ear canal are moved by sound waves. If the inner ear or cochlear hairs are damaged they can send faulty impulses to the brain which can cause tinnitus.

Tnnitus, age-related hearing loss can also cause tinnitus. Hearing decreases as they age goes is normal for many peoples. Such hearing loss may cause tinnitus because the nerves in the inner ear become weak.

Prolonged exposure to loud noises is one major cause of both hearing loss and tinnitus. Ear is damaged by the loud machinery, gun shots, motor explosions, and sometime due to the sounds of iPods. Long term exposure can lead to permanent damage and tinnitus,but short term exposure can cause tinnitus that goes away as the ear heals.

Usually hearing loss or cause of tinnitus include the build up of earwax, and the pressure caused by the earwax to the nerves of the inner ear. Easily remedied by removing the excess wax,this is one cause of tinnitus.

Difficulty caused by the stiffening of the ear bones in the middle ear is known as otosclerosis. It is inherited and may result in growth of extra bone in the ear and may generate hearing loss and tinnitus.

While these are the most common know causes of tinnitus, some people never determine the sources of their problem. The stress, damage to the head and neck, tumors of the brain and hypertension may be the causes of the tinnitus according to doctor. There is also a rare disease called Meniere’s disease which is an inner ear disorder that can also cause tinnitus.

Tinnitus can be very aggravating and drive you crazy. It never seems to go away and is constantly there. Some people just learn to deal with it. And others seem to try every thing to get rid of it.
